Sound familiar? You have a new promotion, an important notice or a freshly designed shopping experience – but your visitors simply scroll past it. This is exactly where a popup comes in: it puts your most important message centre stage instead of hiding it on the page.
Whether it is a product announcement, a shop notice, a newsletter prompt or a limited-time promotion – popups belong in a professional online shop. The art is attracting attention without being annoying. This plugin is the successor to our "Gold" awarded "InfoLightbox" from Shopware 5 – now for Shopware 6 with shopping experiences and far more control.
How Modal deploys popups with purpose
With Modal you control where and when your message appears – along the customer journey:
- on the home page, in categories and on product detail pages
- on standard pages such as the shopping cart and the account area
- via exit intent when a visitor is about to leave your shop
You reach people while browsing, in the cart and at the moment before they leave – without theme customisation and without a developer.
Content without programming – including newsletter and discount code
You design your modal with Shopware 6 shopping experiences. Alternatively use the HTML editor field or embed an external page via iFrame. Choose from nine positions whether the modal appears top left, centre or elsewhere.
Because the content comes from the shopping experience, you stay flexible:
- Newsletter signup: create a shopping experience with the newsletter form and display it in the modal
- Discount code: place the code as content (for example as text in the shopping experience or HTML field) – not a separate dynamic discount module, but free content you control
- Notices, promotions, images and other CMS elements as usual in the shopping experience
Functions that make the difference
- Over 90 animations for fading in and out, including adjustable speed.
- Exit intent: if a customer is about to leave, you react with a fitting modal – ideal for notices, newsletter or offers before the visit ends.
- Open modal via link: link a modal from your content or open it via a configurable URL parameter.
- Grouped modals: combine several contents; customers switch via tab navigation.
Full control over timing and visibility
You define when and how often a modal appears:
- Page or category for display
- Visibility period and display duration
- Minimum display time or immediate close
- Blocking periods without re-display
- Viewport and device
With the optional confirmation requirement, the modal closes only after an active click and does not reappear in the same session. Using the sales channel setting you control in which shops the plugin is active.
A flexible popup system, not a single overlay
Many shops need more than one overlay in one place. With Modal you build a flexible popup system: the same Administration, different content and rules – from the home page via the cart through to exit intent. You stay theme-independent and iterate messages without code.

As a shop operator you place important information directly in your customers' field of view. Install the plugin, create your first modal and test it with an animation – for example with a newsletter form in the shopping experience, a discount code as content, or exit intent before visitors leave. Compatibility
Our extension is generally compatible with all our own extensions, provided that the respective functionalities do not conflict with each other.
For third-party extensions, including Shopware’s premium extensions, we cannot guarantee unrestricted compatibility. Should any issues arise in this context, our support team will be happy to assist you.
Naturally, when new Shopware versions are released, we ensure that our extension is made compatible with them in a timely manner.
Please note that our statements refer to the Shopware Community Edition with the standard responsive theme.

To process your request as quickly as possible, please ensure that:
- The latest version of our extension, compatible with your Shopware version, is installed
- You have a valid rental or subscription license
- The issue also occurs in the Shopware standard theme and with all third-party extensions deactivated
- No changes have been made by you or third parties to the plugin code
- You have studied the manual in advance, as it already contains many helpful pieces of information
In most cases, it is necessary for us to have unrestricted access to your shop’s administration in order to analyze and fix the problem. Additionally, it may be required for you to provide us with FTP or ideally SSH credentials for your server. Please note that setting up and later removing these accesses is your responsibility.
For a smooth troubleshooting process, we recommend conducting support in a staging or development environment. This allows issues to be reproduced under controlled conditions without affecting your live shop.
