About the Extension

End the endless product description scroll

Long product texts are a double-edged sword: Google loves them, but customers only skim them. On mobile they block the path to the buy button; on desktop they stretch the page out. Yet shortening the content hurts your SEO ranking.

Stone & Water - Collapsible Product Description solves exactly this conflict: Long descriptions are collapsed to a configurable height with an elegant fade-out effect and a "Read more" button. The full content remains in the DOM - Google still sees everything, the customer initially sees only what matters.

How it works

The plugin hooks into the active Shopware 6.6/6.7 template structure (CMS-element-based product detail page). CSS limits the description to the configured height, and a gradient at the bottom creates a smooth transition. The "Read more" button only appears when the content actually exceeds the cut-off - short descriptions remain unchanged.

The properties table (size, material etc.) is optionally absorbed into the collapsible area, so nothing protrudes awkwardly below the toggle.
