Alt-Text Optimizer Pro solves this problem in seconds instead of hours: The plugin analyzes your product images with OpenAI Vision and automatically generates precise, SEO-optimized alt texts – directly in your Shopware Administration.

How It Works

After installation, you'll find the "Alt-Text Optimizer Pro" section in your administration's main menu. There you can see at a glance which images are missing alt texts. Select individual images or click "Generate all" – the AI handles the rest.

The plugin automatically detects linked products and uses the product name as context, ensuring the generated alt texts are maximally relevant.

Full Control Over Your Alt Texts

You stay in control at all times: Set the desired language, minimum and maximum text length, and image resolution for analysis. Already generated alt texts can be reviewed, regenerated, or removed individually or in bulk.

Supported Languages

Alt texts are automatically generated in the correct language: German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch.

Which OpenAI API key do I need?

You need an API key from platform.openai.com. Creating an account is free. You only pay for actual usage directly to OpenAI – typically a few cents per image with the recommended GPT-4o mini model.

Will existing alt texts be overwritten?

No. The plugin only shows images without alt texts. However, on the "AI-generated" tab, you can specifically regenerate or remove previously generated alt texts.

Which languages are supported?

Alt texts can be generated in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch. The language is set in the plugin settings.

How much does using the OpenAI API cost?

API costs are charged directly by OpenAI and depend on the chosen model and image resolution. With GPT-4o mini and low resolution, costs are typically a few cents per image. You have full control over your budget. Addind the product name and product descriptions to the context will increase the costs slightly.

Is the plugin EAA / WCAG compliant?
