Optimize PageSpeed - Faster loading times for your Shopware shop

Optimize PageSpeed combines the most effective front-end optimizations in one extension. It converts your JPG and PNG images to WebP, adds lazy loading with above-the-fold detection, defers stylesheets and Google Fonts, preloads important fonts, minifies the HTML and sets up compression and browser caching on Apache servers.

Your shop transfers less data per page view and displays content sooner. This gives you a better basis for your Google PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse scores, for Core Web Vitals such as Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) and for your SEO ranking. Every optimization can be switched on and off individually.

WebP images for JPG and PNG

WebP is a modern image format with noticeably smaller files at comparable visual quality. The extension creates a WebP version of every JPG and PNG in your media library, including all thumbnails. It delivers the WebP files automatically wherever the storefront uses Shopware's standard image template, for example for product images, listings and Shopping Experiences.

Separate quality settings for images (default 80) and thumbnails (default 60)
JPG and PNG conversion can be enabled separately; PNG transparency is preserved
Your original files stay untouched: the WebP files are stored next to them and can be deleted with one click at any time
As long as no WebP file exists, the original image is delivered, so there are no broken images during conversion
Optional fallback: browsers without WebP support receive the original JPG or PNG
Base URL for WebP files can be set globally or per sales channel
Debug mode shows the WebP path the extension looks for on every image

Built for large media libraries

Conversion runs in batches and adapts to your server. Before PHP reaches its memory limit or maximum execution time, the batch stops, and the next run continues exactly where it left off.

Images are indexed automatically when you open the WebP page for the first time
Number of images per batch is adjustable (default: 100)
Optional scheduled task: converts pending images every 5 minutes and, once all are done, checks for new or changed files
New and changed images are detected by their modification date and queued again
Problem images, such as extremely large files, can be skipped; source files over 200 MB are logged as errors instead of blocking the queue
Error log with file, message and date, plus "Retry errors"
Cleanup removes index entries and WebP files whose source image no longer exists

WebP overview in the Administration

Under Content > WebP you can see the status of every image at a glance:

Converted, pending and failed images with progress bar, split into media and thumbnails
Bandwidth saved in total and per file: original size, WebP size and reduction in percent
Search by path and filter by status
Before/after slider to compare the original and the WebP version
Convert or reconvert single images; reconverting an image also refreshes its thumbnails
Estimated remaining time for manual and scheduled conversion
Status of the scheduled task with current phase, last run and duration
Maintenance actions: reindex, check updates, retry errors and clean up

CLI commands

Convert large media libraries without a browser, for example via SSH or in deployment scripts:

Lazy loading and above-the-fold detection

Native lazy loading (loading="lazy") for images, iframes and videos
Images in the first viewport are detected and switched to eager loading, so your Largest Contentful Paint image is not lazy-loaded
Zoom, magnifier and slider images are excluded from lazy loading, so product galleries keep working as expected
Optional fix for gallery images that are displayed too small

Responsive images in the right size

The extension calculates optimized srcset and sizes attributes from your theme breakpoints (including XXL) and the number of columns. For images with a fixed display width, thumbnails that are much larger than needed are left out, so the browser does not load an oversized file.

Stylesheets and fonts

Deferred stylesheets: non-critical stylesheets load after the page has loaded
Lazy Google Fonts: Google Fonts load on the first user interaction (scroll, mouse movement, key press or touch)
Preload files: important fonts are preloaded with the correct font type (WOFF2, WOFF, TTF, OTF, EOT)
"Scan CSS for files" automatically finds the WOFF2 fonts used in your storefront stylesheets
Preload lists can be maintained per sales channel

HTML minification

Removes unnecessary whitespace, line breaks and HTML comments from the page source. Redundant type attributes (text/javascript, text/css) are dropped as well. Content of script, style, pre and textarea elements remains untouched, and conditional comments are kept.

Compression and browser caching via .htaccess (Apache)

Switch each server optimization on or off individually:

Gzip compression
Deflate compression for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, XML, SVG, fonts and more
Keep-Alive for persistent connections
Expires headers, e.g. 1 year for JPG, PNG and GIF images and 1 month for CSS and JavaScript
Cache-Control headers

The rules are written into a clearly marked section of your public/.htaccess. The extension keeps a copy of the original file and creates a backup before every change. It also checks your web server: if it is not Apache, the .htaccess options are hidden and a notice is shown.

Die App arbeitet reibungslos und effizient, und es ist ohne Übertreibung die beste Lösung für diesen Zweck, die wir je getestet haben. Unsere Seitenladezeiten haben sich drastisch verbessert, was zu einer erhöhten Benutzerzufriedenheit geführt hat.

Das plugin ist sein Geld wert! Die Performance von meinem Shop war aufgrund vieler Faktoren nicht so der Knaller und so wie man es sich Wünschen würde! Nach der Installation hat es eigentlich alles gerade gebogen, was ich nur mit viel Arbeit und Elan manuell hätte machen können! Ein großes Lob an den Entwickler!

Das Plugin bietet viele wichtige Bestandteile der PageSpeed-Optimierung, die in jedem Shop zum Pflicht-Check gehören.

Aufgrund individueller Anpassungen bei uns im Template war auch eine Justierung des Plugins notwendig. Der Support des Herstellers war hervorragend: schnell und offen.

Auch wenn wir mit diesem Page-Speed Plugin keine großen Erfolge erzielen konnten, weil wir ähnliche Mechanismen auf andere Art und Weise einsetzen, ist es auf jeden Fall hilfreich, einen zusätzlichen Check zu machen. Sicher ist sicher.

Wolfi bietet einen super schnellen Support, kümmert sich wenn etwas mal nicht gleich so läuft. Auch mir wurde außerhalb des Plugins geholfen. Einfach super und kann ich nur empfehlen diese App. Danke Wolfi.

Der Wolfi bietet ein super Support für seine Plugins. Es funktioniert alles sehr gut und ich würde es jedem Empfehlen der einen Shopware Shop baut.
Alles super erklärt und die Funktion zu dem Preis bekommt man sonst nirgends.

Würde gerne mehr als 5 Sterne geben. Plug & Play war der Shop nach der Installation und Generierung der WebP Medien so schnell, als wäre er lokal auf meinem PC gehostet (Pagespeed mobil auf den meisten Seiten von 30 auf 70, PC von 80 auf 95) . Ich glaube nicht, dass es ein besseres Plugin für Pagespeed gibt, als das von Weedesign.
Auf den Hinweis, dass es keinen Fallback für alte Browser (WebP) gibt, hat der Entwickler innerhalb weniger Tage einen Fallback eingebaut. So sparen wir uns eine Menge Geld, da wir nun kein CDN benötigen.
Andere würden hier hohe Summen für Individualisierungen berechnen. Ich kann den Kauf jedem Interessenten nur ans Herz legen.

Seite war vorher im Pagespeed etwas langsamer - nun nen sehr gutes Scoring - teste das Plugin gerade und werde es definitiv kaufen. Klare Weiterempfehlung! Auch außerhalb dieses Plugins wurde mir geholfen - Danke dafür.
