Connect your Shopify store with Paket International to manage domestic and international shipping, carrier rates, shipping labels, customs documents and tracking from one central solution.

1. Install the Paket International App

Install the Paket International app from the Shopify App Store or via the provided installation link.

During installation, Shopify will display the permissions required by the app. Approve these permissions to connect your store.

No manual Shopify API key is required. The technical connection to Shopify is established automatically during the app installation and authorization process.

2. Connect Your Paket International Account

After installing the app, connect your existing Paket International account or create a new account if required.

This assigns your Shopify store to your Paket International customer account and enables the available shipping services, rates and account-specific conditions.

3. Configure Your Sender and Pickup Address

Check or enter the address from which your shipments will be dispatched.

Make sure the following information is complete:

• Company name
• First and last name
• Street and house number
• Postal code
• City
• Country
• State or province, if required
• VAT ID, where applicable
• Telephone number
• Email address

Accurate sender information is especially important for international shipments and customs documentation.

4. Check Your Product Data

Complete product information helps ensure accurate shipping rates and smooth customs clearance.

We recommend maintaining the following data for each product:

• Product weight
• Length, width and height
• Clear product description
• Product value
• Country of origin
• HS or customs tariff code, where available

For international shipments, avoid vague descriptions such as “parts”, “accessories” or “sample”.

Use specific descriptions such as:

“Aluminium bicycle pedals for bicycles”

instead of:

“Accessories”

Clear product descriptions can reduce customs queries and delays.

5. Configure Package Dimensions

If your products already contain accurate dimensions and weights, these values can be used for shipping calculations.

If dimensions are not available for every product, define suitable standard package dimensions.

Depending on your setup, predefined packaging sizes can also be used for recurring parcel formats.

Accurate package dimensions are important because shipping prices can depend on both actual weight and volumetric weight.

6. Choose Your Label Creation Workflow

You can configure how shipping labels are created depending on your fulfilment process.

Automatic Label Creation

Automatic label creation is suitable when package dimensions are already known before fulfilment.

Shipping and, where applicable, customs documents can be generated automatically based on the available order and product information.

This option is useful for highly automated shipping processes.

Manual Label Creation / Packed Mode

Use manual label creation if the final dimensions and weight are only known after packing the order.

After packing the shipment, enter the actual:

• Weight
• Length
• Width
• Height

The shipping label can then be generated using the final package information.

This option is particularly useful for orders containing several products or variable packaging sizes.

7. Configure International Shipping and Customs

For international shipments, Paket International can support the creation and processing of shipping and customs information.

Depending on the destination and shipment, this can include:

• Commercial invoice data
• Customs declarations
• Export documentation
• HS codes
• Country of origin
• Customs values
• Duties and import taxes
• DDP and DAP shipping processes

Complete product and customs information should be maintained before enabling automated international shipping.

8. Configure Live Shipping Rates

If enabled for your Shopify store, Paket International can provide carrier-calculated shipping rates during checkout.

Rates may depend on factors such as:

• Destination country
• Postal code
• Shipment weight
• Package dimensions
• Product value
• Selected carrier
• Selected shipping service

Please note that Shopify applies specific plan requirements to third-party carrier-calculated shipping rates.

9. Configure Additional Shipping Options

Depending on your Paket International account and shipping setup, additional options may include:

• Shipment insurance
• DDP shipping
• DAP shipping
• Duties and tax calculation
• International customs documents
• Multiple carriers
• Express shipping
• Tracking
• Predefined package sizes

Only activate functions that are relevant to your shipping workflow.

10. Perform a Test Order

Before using the integration for live customer orders, place at least one test order.

Check the complete process:

1. Create a Shopify test order.
2. Verify that the shipping address is transferred correctly.
3. Check the available shipping rates.
4. Verify package weight and dimensions.
5. Check customs data for international shipments.
6. Create a shipping label.
7. Check the generated shipping and customs documents.
8. Verify the tracking number.
9. Confirm that tracking information is transferred back to Shopify.
10. Check the complete fulfilment workflow.

Once the test has been completed successfully, the integration is ready for regular use.
