How do I connect my shop with Hotjar?

After installing the plugin, you only need your Hotjar tracking code (Site ID). You can find it in your Hotjar account. Simply paste it into the plugin settings and save your changes. Hotjar will then start collecting data automatically.

Why don’t I see any data in my Hotjar account?

In most cases, this is caused by one of the following: • The tracking code is not set correctly • There has been no traffic on your website yet • Tracking has not been accepted in the cookie consent • An ad blocker is preventing data collection Please check these points before assuming there is an issue.

Does tracking only work after cookie consent is given?

Yes. If a cookie consent manager is active, Hotjar will only load after the user has given consent. The plugin automatically integrates Hotjar into the Shopware Cookie Consent Manager. No data is collected without user consent.
